Flora's Cottage Bedrooms
The family home of 'Highland heroine' Flora MacDonald‘s Cottage now provides seven individual and private bedrooms for our Hotel guests.
Dating from about 1750, this cosy dwelling was extensively and lovingly renovated in 1993/4. Each of the seven bedrooms is named after one of Flora‘s seven children.
Our page Flora MacDonald - a brief history tells the story of this extraordinary woman.
The Cottage is set in a pretty and secluded garden just a few paces from the Main House and enjoys the same wonderful sea views.
The award winning bedrooms retain a cosy cottage 'old world' atmosphere and with thick stone walls it‘s easy to oversleep!
Four of the Cottage bedrooms are situated on the ground floor ~ two having direct access to the Cottage garden (wonderful in Summer).
One of the ground floor bedrooms is designed for invalid use with suitable parking immediately adjacent.
The first floor bedrooms are charming, bright attic rooms with twin beds and whilst small, they make a perfect 'get away from it all' hiding place. You will want to hibernate for weeks!
With Victorian cast iron baths, warm tartans, wood and brass, - Flora‘s Cottage provides for a truly unique and memorable stay on your Highland Tour.
